Process Steps

Step 1

The applicant obtains an application form from the Transportation department; and where the vehicle does not have valid Certificate of Fitness for the vehicle,  a vehicle testing form or can be found here.

Step 2

The applicant makes payment at the Road Transport Department and receives receipt of payment.

Step 3 The applicant completes the form and submits accompanying documents.
Step 4 The applicant submits the application together with the supporting documents to the Registry Officer. The RO verifies the applications as being complete and registers in log-book.
Step 5 

The Technical Officer reviews the application,

-if satisfied, prepares the permit, signs and stamps

- if incomplete or missing/incomplete information supplied the applicant is advised accordingy. 
Step 6

The applicant receives the permit and may proceed to border if approved.

Step 7 A copy of the approved permit is filed for record keeping.
Step 8 Applicant buys a consignment notebook from the Road Transportation Department for E250.  
Step 9 Applicant may proceed to border.
